Eligible Training Providers

The Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board (SWWDB) provides clients with quality training opportunities.  Training is intended to address the demand occupational priorities of the area and be consistent with the interests and aptitudes of eligible clients.  All training services are provided through eligible providers authorized and approved by SWWDB.

Any agency that would like to train job seekers under WIA adult, dislocated worker, and older youth funding must be approved as a qualified, legitimate training provider prior to delivery of the training.  Customized training, on‐the‐job training, and other training exceptions are not covered under this process.

To become an eligible training provider, contact SWWDB to receive an application form.  A PDF version of the application form can be downloaded by going to  Wisconsin Job Center - ITA Resources.

Criteria used by SWWDB to determine a training agency’s qualifications and eligibility includes:

Training providers may additionally need to obtain approval or accreditation of their training programs in accordance with the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board or other accrediting agencies.  The SWWDB approval process is not a substitute for other existing educational approval and accreditation processes.  Training agencies providing Certified Nursing Assistant and other health care service programs must be approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS) and be listed on its registry before it can be approved and placed on the SWWDB approved training provider list.

Once a training agency has obtained certification from SWWDB, the organization and programs will be added to the WIA Wisconsin Statewide List of Eligible Training Providers and Programs.  This list includes occupational programs offered by four-year colleges and universities, technical colleges, private career schools and other training providers.

Visit Department of Workforce Development Website to search Wisconsin's Statewide List of Eligible Training Programs and Providers.  You may search by location, training program, or school.
