Local Workforce Development Organization Leader to Retire

PLATTEVILLE – Dr. Robert “Bob” Borremans, CEO of the Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board (SWWDB), has announced his retirement effective the end of August, 2014. Bob has served in this leadership role for the past 11 years.
The SWWDB is a multimillion dollar organization that provides workforce training and employment placement through the administration of the federally mandated Workforce Investment Act (WIA) directives. The board is made up of public and private sector professionals dedicated to administering and directing employment issues and opportunities in a six (6) county area including Rock, Green, Lafayette, Iowa, Grant and Richland Counties. SWWDB is also responsible for oversight of the job centers in southwest Wisconsin. There are 11 workforce boards in Wisconsin.
Scott Stocker, chairman of the board of directors, notes Bob’s more than 37 years in employment and training, and extensive service during these economically challenging times in southwest Wisconsin.
“Bob’s leadership has guided us through difficult times. Bob’s collaborative and professional approach to conducting SWWDB business has given us high recognition, time and again, from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and other stakeholders in our region. Bob has created an efficient and valuable staff and delivered positive results throughout his career with us. Bob has built an infrastructure that will withstand this transition; the sign of a true leader.”
Stocker notes that the board has begun an immediate search for possible candidates to succeed Dr. Borremans. Interested candidates are requested to submit their credentials to Tyler Pratt, Tyler Pratt and Associates, Ltd. P.O. Box 6871, Rockford, Il. 61125-6871 or email at tyler@prattassoc.com.
The board is hopeful to announce a new CEO by mid-summer of 2014.
